AgriTech eCommerce Platform

Overview

The AgriTech eCommerce Platform is a comprehensive API marketplace designed for the agriculture sector. Drawing inspiration from IBM's API Hub, the platform empowers users to access specialized APIs for agricultural business needs. Our primary goal was to streamline the user journey from API discovery to acquisition, incorporating a seamless Try and Buy system integrated with API Connect and IBM ID.

Business Goals

The primary business objectives were to:

  • Establish a reliable and responsive API marketplace for agricultural clients.
  • Implement a Try and Buy mechanism to enhance user engagement and conversion.
  • Integrate robust billing and reporting systems to facilitate smooth financial transactions and accountability.


Launch Strategies

To achieve these goals, our strategy included:

User-Centered Design
Collaborating closely with stakeholders and the design team, we developed detailed wireframes and user flows that prioritized ease of use and clarity. We ensured that both new and returning users could effortlessly navigate the platform.

Incremental MVP Rollout

We divided the project into three MVP phases:

MVP 1: Basic APIc setup, user registration via IBM ID, and foundational marketing pages.
MVP 2: Introduction of Try and Buy features, transaction tracking, and automated subscription management.
MVP 3: Development of admin dashboards for monitoring user activity, managing API subscriptions, and handling cancellations.

Robust Backend Integration: Leveraging API Connect, we ensured that the platform could handle API deployment, management, and user interactions seamlessly. Credit card payments were integrated using IPG, and usage reporting was streamlined for IBM's billing systems.

Results

The launch of the AgriTech eCommerce Platform resulted in a significant boost in user engagement and API transactions within the agricultural sector.
